North Star is taking the opportunity to celebrate the 2026 Olympics and learn about different cultures. Monday morning the staff and students participated in an opening ceremony complete with a torch. Each student, K-12, is assigned to a teacher and a country. Throughout the week they will be working on researching and developing artifacts for their room. Friday, students will rotate from room to room learning more about the selected countries. The opening ceremony was live-streamed on North Star Bearcats Booster Club’s Facebook page if you’d like to go back and watch. Thanks to all involved in our week including the NS school board, TCMC staff, Bravera Bank, First State Bank, First United Bank Hal Parker Post #79, and North Star Bearcats Booster Club.

Reminder: February 4 Professional Development time for teachers has moved from a late start to an early out. Students will be dismissed at 1:45 PM that day so teachers can attend a workshop from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM.

No FRC robotics today (Sunday, January 18) due to blizzard warning, wind chill and road conditions.
The BBB (A,B,JH 6 quarters) vs. North Prairie scheduled for Friday, January 16 have been re-scheduled to Saturday, January 17 starting at noon.
Change in tonight's basketball schedule. There will only be a Varsity game versus Warwick starting at 6:00 PM. Admission to the game is $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students. All dancers will be dancing at halftime of this varsity game.

North Star's FIRST Lego League Team #53799 is working on a solution for digitizing photographs, artwork and historical documents in our local community. Please help us gather information for our project. We hope to develop a solution to save, organize and share files of importance to families, organizations and community members, including alumni photos, historical documents, personal artwork and more.
