We have some openings for help in the lunchroom for the District Tournament. On Saturday the time openings are 4 PM to 6 PM and 6:00 PM to approximately 8:00 PM. On Monday there are openings from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and 7:30 PM to approximately 9:00 PM. All profits from the concession sales goes to the North Star Scholarship Group. Those offering to help will have a pass to the tournament. Contact the school if you can help out. Thank you.
SADD members are selling Valentine grams starting today, February 5th and continuing until Friday, February 11th. They will cost $1.00 and proceeds will go to the Comfort Cabinet.
JH GBB Jamboree for today in Langdon has been canceled. There is a possibility that a Jamboree may be held next Saturday. Thank you.
Preschool Screening: If you have a child born between 8/1/2017 and 7/31/2018 and you have not received a letter from the school regarding preschool screening, please contact Ms. Gunderson at 968-4416 to schedule.
This is a message from the North Star School. Tomorrow morning will be another tough morning weather wise. Fortunately, the visibility and the roads will be in good shape, and there will be a light wind. Our current plan is to start school on time and if we need to change from that an alert will come out at 6:00 AM. If your child is riding on the bus, please remember they need gloves, a warm coat, a warm hat, and boots. We will have spare buses started immediately in the morning in case of bus issues, but it will still take up to 30 minutes to get to a stranded bus. If your child drives to school they should have a full tank of fuel, a warm coat, a warm hat, gloves, boots, blankets, and a fully charged cell phone. If you feel it is too dangerous to send your child to school call the school in the morning and they will not be counted absent. Thank you and try to stay warm.
BBB games with Dunseith will be on Thursday (JH,B,A) starting at 4:30 PM. GBB with Park River will be on Friday (B,A) starting at 5:30 PM. Junior Prom Parent Meeting will be on February 10th at 7:00 PM. Thank you.

This is a message from the North Star School. The No Travel Alert for our area is not being lifted anytime soon therefore we will not have school today and all activities are canceled. A make up day will be announced at a later time. Reminder tomorrow is a late start of 10:00 AM for PD. No breakfast, but there will be morning daycare and morning Pre-School.
We are now in a blizzard warning until 9:00 AM, therefore we will go with a 10:30 AM start. No breakfast, no morning Pre-School, and no morning daycare this morning. Buses will run on paved roads only this morning. School doors will open at 10:15 AM.

The GBB games scheduled for Park River tonight have been postponed until next Monday. There will be B and A squads only next Monday and a start time to be determined. JH BBB and HS BBB will have practice tonight after school and both teams will be done practicing at 5:00 PM. Thank you.

The 5th Congressional session in Mrs. Swanson’s US History Class was assembled this January of 2022. Senators and Representatives worked tirelessly to pass meaningful legislation and learned how bills become laws. The presidents even made use of the pocket veto. We are glad these young congress people were able to reach across the aisle and get some work done on Capitol Hill!
Congratulations to North Star’s FIRST Lego League team, RAPTOR Robotics for winning the Core Values Award at their regional competition and qualifying for the North Dakota State FLL Tournament on February 12! GO BEARCATS!!!
A change in the GBB schedule for tomorrow at Rolette. There will only be a JH game and Varsity game. JH game will start at 5:45 PM with the varsity to follow 20 minutes later. The bus will leave at 4:15 PM.
