Here is an updated bracket for the District 3 GBB tournament. North Star will play the second game on Saturday, February 10. Start time will be approximately 2:30. All games will be live streamed on the Park River You Tube channel "The Stable"

Due to current and projected weather conditions, North Star Schools will start 2 hours late on Friday, February 9. We will begin at 10:38; busses will run 2 hours late as well. There will be NO breakfast and no preschool.

Due to the forecasted weather conditions for tomorrow, Thursday, February 8, Parent/Teacher Conferences will be postponed to a later date. The scheduled 2:45 dismissal WILL remain in effect, but we are also keeping an eye on the shifting road conditions. If we should need to, we will be in communication for further weather related delays or closures.
Due to the weather forecast for the next few days, it was decided to change the start times for the first day of the District 3 GBB tournament in Park River. North Star will play the 1st game of the day starting at 3:00 on Friday, February 9th. See Updated bracket.
North Star Schools will be having a late start on Wednesday, February 7th for staff professional development. School will start at 10:00, doors will open at 9:50. Students in grades 7-12 will start their day in 2nd period.
Parents of after school day care kids, you can pick them up in the lobby of the high school today. They will be attending the boy's basketball games.
The Bracket for the District 3 Girls Basketball tournament has been set. The North Star Lady Bearcats will play the 3rd game (25 minutes after game 2) on Friday, February 9th v. #2 Seed St. John. The tournament will be played at the Park River Area High School February 9, 10 and 12.
Tonight, the BBB teams will be hosting the St. John Woodchucks starting with JH at 3:45. JV game will start approximately 6:00 followed by the varsity game. One of the members of the North Star National Honor Society is doing a service project to gather donations for the Mountain Lakes Human Services. There will be a reduced admission price for spectators when you bring an item that is listed on the flyer to the game tonight.
8th grade students collected data on beam strength. They wrote linear equations to fit their data.

Friday, February 2
JH will have two games and will start at 3:45. JV game will start approximately at 6:15 followed by the varsity game. Parents night will be after the JV game. All games will be played in Starkweather. The games in Starkweather will not be livestreamed.
Saturday, February 3
JH will have two games starting at 12:00. JV game will start approximately at 2:00 followed by the varsity game. This will be Senior day and the Seniors along with their parents will be recognized after the JV game.

Parents that have children in the after-school day care program, your child(ren) will be in the gym today watching the basketball game. Please stop in the lobby to pick up your child(ren).
Congratulations to the 2024 Towner County Spelling Bee participants and winners! Ezra and Easton will be representing Towner County at the State Spelling Bee in Bismarck on March 18. Great job, spellers!
The North Star Europe Trip students are having a free will donation breakfast on Sunday, February 4th from 9:00-2:00 in the North Star School cafeteria. They will be serving pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, coffee and orange juice. They will also be selling Valentine's cookies and will have a sheet to sign up for a singing valentine. Please come out on February 4th from 9:00-2:00 and support these talented students.
The Bearcat GBB teams will be in St. John tonight starting at 3:30 with 2 junior high games followed by the JV and the varsity teams. If you are not able to attend you can catch all of the action on....

BBB JH: v. Oberon at 4:30 (moved to North Star School) and JV and Varsity v. Cavalier starting at 5:30.

Here is an update for the makeup dates from earlier postponements for GBB and BBB.
BBB v. Cavalier rescheduled for Tuesday, January 23, 2024 JV start time will be 5:30 and varsity to follow.
The JH BBB game v. Oberon has been moved to North Star Gym and will play before the JV game starting at 4:30 on Tuesday, January 23.
The GBB games at St. John's has been rescheduled for Friday, January 26th at St. John's. There will be 2 JH games starting at 3:45 and JV and varsity games will follow.
