SPECIAL SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
May 5, 2023
The School Board of North Star Public School District #10 met for a special session on Friday, May 5, 2023 in North Star Room 101. PRESENT: Chris Doehler, Michelle Gibbens, Jeremiah Halley, Vickie Jacksen, Jeana Jorde, Paul Wagenman. ABSENT: Brooks Larson. Administration: Nancy Reiser, Jessica Gunderson, Cathy Johnson. VISITORS: Bryan Haugen, Tyler
Olsen, and Sara Walsh (Superintendent Interview Committee members).
Board President Jacksen called the meeting to order at 7:45 a.m.
Old Business: Employment package details proposed by the NS negotiating committee for the superintendent contract offer were presented for approval. MOTION was made by Halley, seconded by Jorde, to approve the contract provisions proposed by the NSSB negotiating committee for the superintendent position offered to Aimee Zachrison. MOTION CARRIED on a roll call vote: Doehler-yes, Gibbens-yes, Halley-yes, Jorde-yes, Wagenman-yes, Jacksen-yes (Larson absent).
New Business: Ms. Jacksen read a letter submitted by Nancy Reiser resigning from her HS principal position followed by a brief discussion of options to address the opening created by the realignment of Ms. Reiser’s position.MOTION was made by Gibbens, seconded by Doehler, to accept Nancy Reiser’s resignation from her HS principal position. MOTION CARRIED on a roll call vote: Doehler-yes, Gibbens-yes, Halley-yes, Jorde-yes, Wagenman-yes,
Jacksen-yes (Larson absent).
The board expressed their sincere thanks to Ms. Reiser for her 10 years of service as North Star’s high school principal.
Next meeting is May 17, 2023 at 7:00 a.m. in the shop classroom.
