Hi! My name is Sarah Vogel and I am one of the Kindergarten teachers at North Star. This is my first year teaching Kindergarten and my first year at North Star!
I taught music for over 13 years in Colorado and North Dakota before deciding to move to Kindergarten. I enjoy playing the piano and trombone. My other interests include running, baking, and spending time with my family. One of our favorite activities is fishing in the Devils Lake area. I live on a farmstead north of Cando with my husband, Charlie, and two daughters, Rebecca and Lenore.
Our classroom is a very busy place to learn. Your help will be needed throughout the school year and volunteers will be needed and very much appreciated.
We use a lot of hands-on learning activities, games, and learning centers.
Communication is essential and I will be using several sources to communicate. You can also visit our class website for weekly updates, pictures, helpful resources and see everything that we are doing.
Please feel free to contact me at school at 701-968-4416, by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for helping make this a great year!
Please check your child’s backpack each day after school as we may have important information to go home and some items to be returned to school.
North Star Elementary students are offered a milk break each afternoon. Cost for the milk is $.60/ day. Please be aware that the cost of the milk program is NOT covered with Free/Reduced lunch. Many families choose to send a snack with their student each day for milk break.
Your child may bring in a water bottle each day and will be allowed to keep it at their desk to drink throughout the day.
2 sharpened pencils (Dixon or Ticonderoga brands)
Box of 24 crayons
Sturdy school bag
2 PAIR VELCRO OR SLIP ON SHOES 1 FOR GYM / 1 FOR DAILY WEAR

Today is the day to learn something new!
I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school, August 23! Remember, Back to School Night at North Star is August 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. See you there!
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
