Welcome to class!

Dear students

Hi! My name is Sheri Svir and I will be your first grade teacher this year at North Star School. I am so excited that you will be in my class this year! I can’t wait to meet you and start our year together.

I am married to Jason Svir and have three kids of my own.  Caleb is a freshman,  Brody is a fifth grader, and Kendra is a second grader. My favorite thing to do is spend time with them!  We like to fish, camp, and play different sports together.  We live in a white house on the East side of town.

Our classroom has been repainted and is very bright and colorful!  It will be new to me as well as you.  I am really excited to move in!

Our classroom is structured by a variety of hands-on learning activities, games and learning centers.

Please feel free to contact me at school at 701-968-4416, by email at>. I welcome your thoughts and am looking forward to working together to make first grade a successful year!

All students will be expected to come to school to learn.  Behavior that is respectful to all learners and teachers is expected.  In addition students are required complete all assignments. Logical consequences specific to inappropriate behaviors will be implemented.

Each will be issued a folder that he/she will be responsible for bringing home each night and handing in each morning.  Please help your child with checking the folder each night.

North Star Elementary students are offered a milk break each afternoon. Cost for the milk is $.60/ day. Please be aware that the cost of the milk program is NOT covered with Free/Reduced lunch. Many families choose to send a snack with their student each day for milk break.

Your child may bring in a water bottle each day and will be allowed to keep it at their desk to drink throughout the day.

We will be sharing most supplies.

Your teacher,

Mrs. Svir
