Dear Parents and Students:
Hi! My name is Mr. Reiser and I am your 4th Grade teacher this year at North Star School. I am so excited that you will be in my class this year! I would like you to visit this page often as we will have reports on the activities in our room and even some pictures. Also you will find links to access the Spelling lists for the week, schedules and the lesson plans.
Our classroom is a very busy place to learn. Your help will be needed throughout the school year. Each student will have his/her own iPad to work with. They will need to follow the rules of use and enjoy the programs. We will also be doing other projects that include reading, math and science activities. This first week on Friday the students performed their “I Am Poems” at the local “French Cafe”. We will be having a Math football game also. You will have to check out the ND Studies crops display on the sidewalk.
Communication is essential and I will be trying to communicate with you often by the means of your choice. You can also visit our class website for weekly updates, pictures, helpful resources and see everything that we are doing. Please feel free to call or e-mail me at anytime. I will try to get back to you as soon as I can.
You can contact me at school at 701-968-4416 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I welcome your thoughts and am looking forward to working together to make fourth grade a successful year!
I would expect that students complete work and hand it in by the due date. This in many cases is the day after the assignment is made. They will be expected to complete 8 book reports (two each quarter). I will give them the rubric instructions and assignment date in class. Respect is an important word in my class and I would hope we all show respect for others and property. I always believe that respect goes a long way and if you show respect you should receive respect.
North Star Elementary students are offered a milk break each afternoon. Cost for the milk is $.60/ day. Please be aware that the cost of the milk program is NOT covered with Free/Reduced lunch. Many families choose to send a snack with their student each day for milk break.
Your child may bring in a water bottle each day and will be allowed to keep it at their desk to drink throughout the day.
- The Lesson plans and Spelling Lists can be found on the tab at the top labeled Lesson Plans.
- The Schedule can be found on the schedule tab at the top of the page.
Don’t forget this week is a short week . Please return the bottom portion of the Conference Schedule so I know who can make it at the scheduled time.
